Assistant Pastor Mike Foster grew up in Davison, MI where he and his family were active in the church for 15 years. He was saved at a Christian camp when he was 12 years old. In 1989 he and his family moved to Greenville, South Carolina where he attended Morningside Baptist Church while finishing his high school career at Hampton Park Christian School. After 41/2 years at Bob Jones University, where he graduated with a degree in Music Education, he moved to Vassar, MI where he was a teacher at Juniata Christian School for 6 1/2 years. In 2002 the Lord called him into evangelism working specifically with Baptist Church Planting Ministry and Dr. Earl Jessup. Pastor Foster has also been to several other countries doing evangelistic work and encouraging church planting. Pastor Foster came on staff in January, 2010 to be the assistant working with youth, music, outreach, and Junior Camp. Pastor Foster’s wife, Bonnie, is a great asset to him in the ministry. The Fosters have traveled on several mission trips to different parts of the world and welcome the opportunity to go elsewhere as the Lord allows. Pastor and Mrs. Foster have two girls and two boys, Grace, Lauryn, and Nathan. They were expecting their fourth child in August of 2010 and the Lord decided to take little Joel home to Heaven.
Pastor Frank Workman, an alumnus of Bob Jones University and has been in the Gospel preaching ministry since 1961. His servant heart serves as a model example of a New Testament Assistant Pastor. He has served churches in Michigan, Minnesota and Ohio and his reputation as a loyal assistant echoes throughout fundamentalism. He and his wife, Laura, who is now with the Lord, came to Troy Baptist Temple with both their children, Doug and Beth, in August of 1988. Pastor Workman and his family continue serving the Lord and the people of TBT. He assists Pastor in teaching, preaching and visiting while enjoying his family, especially his grandson, Brock.
